For this week’s Thursday Thoughts, I am happy to be home after an amazing trip out West.
There And Back Again
Today, we are back home from a wonderful adventure in Wyoming. Not only did we get to spend some quality time with amazing friends, but we were also fortunate to wander the Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks. I have much more to share about our trip, so keep an eye out. In the meantime, here is a sneak peek picture.
Traveling can be relaxing and renewing. A change of scenery can jump start your creativity, refresh your view, and reengage your mind. This year, in particular, traveling again felt particularly special. After more than a year of sheltering in place, uncertainty, and worry, we were incredibly grateful for this experience.
At the same time, I have a pretty set amount of time I can be away from home before I start to miss my small corner of the world. I am, at my core, a creature of habit. Combine that with also being introverted, and vacations can become too much for me quickly. So, over the years, I’ve refined my tolerance for being away from home base. For me, ideal vacations last from around 8-9 days. Any more and the experience meant to help me renew does the direct opposite. This trip was pretty much perfect for me – total, we were away 8 days.
But, today, I am happy to be home with my own pillows and bed, a washer & dryer, and of course, these 3 little pieces of my heart.
Instead of closing with a cat picture, we’re ending on tomatoes! While we were away, my plants started producing fruit. I am so proud and excited! We have tiny green cherry and roma tomatoes.
For those of you celebrating this weekend, enjoy and stay safe. Keep your eyes peeled for a full trip post soon!
